![]() We landed and were in our suites in just over 30 mins. The resort itself is really close to the airport - about 5 mins away. We stayed in a premium suite, which had an outdoor shower - as you can gather, the suites and courtyards are totally private. The accommodation facilities are excellent, with some great housekeeping to keep things in tip-top condition (thanks Rosey and Chewem). The excellent suites are located within lovely gardens, each having their own plunge pools and courtyard area. There's lots of great things to say about staying at Serenity. There are people at the airport that help with bags that will expect a tip. Things to note: Bring small bills in cash as it is challenging to break larger bills. I will recommend this place to everyone I know who is interested in a trip like this. Overall: Whether you want a relaxing day in your own private sanctuary, an adventurous day on the island, or a day poolside with endless food and drinks, Serenity is where you want to be with fun themed events daily and each night. We also returned to a very special birthday surprise at our room which made the day very special. If you are here only for the beach I may advise to look elsewhere but then you'd be missing out on all the great things Serenity has to offer. It had a packed cooler, champagne, was next to a bar, and were able to order lunch to the cabana! There is a bit seaweed at the beach but it didn't bother us as snorkeling gave us our ocean fix. We spent my boyfriend's birthday at a private beach cabana. We also had an Oceanfront Cabana Massage which was the most relaxing experience ever. Lucia as well as an intense ride off the beaten path. The snorkeling was very cool and the ATV tour gave us an opportunity to learn about the history of St. Both were incredible experiences, giving you a true look at St. Other experiences: We participated in two excursions. We were there for a birthday and even people we had yet to meet wished my boyfriend a happy birthday! Every single staff member we encountered was so kind whether it be servers at the Greathouse, bartenders, housekeeping, and really anyone that worked there. Kert was awesome and ensured we had the best time. He always made sure we had everything we needed each day, and created an itinerary for our trip with everything we wanted to do while in St. Staff: We were fortunate to have Kert as our butler. We tried to get something new for each meal to try everything and not one meal disappointed. It may have been the freshest food I have ever eaten and each meal was spectacular. It was always lovely to return to our room to kind notes and fun towels from Rosey and Patrice!įood: I am at a loss for words for how amazing the food was at the Greathouse. Once during the day and again in the evening for turndown service. The wet bar in suite was restocked daily and the room was straightened up twice daily. We really enjoyed utilizing the outdoor area with our own private plunge pool. The room and outdoor space was spacious, clean, comfortable, and it was such a unique experience. Rooms: We stayed in the Grande Plunge Pool Butler Suite and it was an amazing experience. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left our stay was nothing short of magical. So when you set a block of text in a given typeface, that block of text should have an overall even texture. ![]() A good typeface lets those inherent differences between letters shine through, while maintaining harmony between all of the letters. If letters didn’t differ from one another, we wouldn’t be able to read them and get information from them. For example, an “x” is totally different from an “i.” That’s the very basis of letters. Each letter is inherently different from other letters. Letters do the job of conveying language. Instead, I mean the “texture” of an overall block of text set in Papyrus. I don’t mean the “texture” in the sense of the various nicks or scratches on the edges of Papyrus letters. One of the most important fundamentals by which to analyze a typeface is that of texture. Keep in mind that Papyrus is what you would call a “display” font, which means it was never intended to be used in blocks of body copy in the first place – not that that has stopped anyone from using it for their term paper on ancient Mesopotamian economics.Įven though Papyrus is a display font, seeing it set in body copy still helps us analyze how well it balances visual weight. Here I’ve set blocks of body copy in Papyrus, Garamond, and Comic Sans. So, I set out to compare and contrast the qualities of Comic Sans and Papyrus with the qualities of the most beloved typeface – Garamond. If Papyrus is the second-most hated font, next to Comic Sans, it makes sense to define Papyrus’s “bad”-ness in comparison with Comic Sans. Surprisingly, I didn’t find this to be true. If it’s so hated, clearly it must be lacking in fundamentals. To start off, let’s look at Papyrus’s fundamentals as a typeface. The surprisingly solid typographic fundamentals of Papyrus One that sends an important message about the potential downfall of civilization. I believe that James Cameron’s use of Papyrus was an artistic choice. And no, not necessarily because of any aesthetic quality the font has. The most surprising finding of all was that Papyrus could potentially be the perfect font for the film Avatar. There were things I learned about Papyrus that deepened my dislike of the font, but there were other things that helped me appreciate it. (I wish I was kidding.) I’ve edited it down to this long blog post. I spent over a year writing a novel’s worth of words trying to untangle the mess. So, I set about the arduous task of breaking down Why You Hate Papyrus. ![]() It’s another thing entirely for it to be used to represent what would become the top-grossing movie of all time. It’s one thing for Papyrus to be used on the sign of a strip-mall bakery. ![]() If Yate was running when you written in configuration file reload Yate so that the changes will take place. Walking in the Grand Palais in Paris, Crusoe pointed at a sports car and asked Walker, "Why can't we have something like that?" I actually would not rule out that the Find Any File maker wants this to happen so that his (not free) applications looks better than the (free) EasyFind. One other thing: Although I had in my searches defined that I do NOT want to have package contents included in the results Find Any File showed them initially in its results, making me initially belief that it had indeed found more files than EasyFind. I don't know about anybody else but in my book that clearly and indisputably means that it does not find "any" file, just "almost any" file. Why? Because Find Any File does not include the little "faf" files that it creates for each search in its results. Howevver, in all of my about 10 tests in which I ran EasyFind and Find Any File next to each other both applications finished almost simultaneously, being not even a second apart.Īnd, guess what - Easyfind found in ALL searches exactly one file more than Find Any File. No doubt that Find Any File finds (almost) everything on a hard drive. The one star in this review is just to counter the hyped-up anti-EasyFind reviews here. Highly recommended! Tembo - same story as the EasyFind, just in a slightly better interface and it isn't free: the property is missing altogether. Tried HoudahSpot in demo mode, as I had bought a license (which turns out to be long expired) in a bundle a few years ago: this one has the function, but it doesn't work! Shows no results. I wonder how they got to version 4.9.3 without incorporating such basic features. Tried EasyFind: the app does not allow to choose to include or to exclude extensions or even specify that the files I'm looking for, should have names starting with a ".". Relaunched the app a few times - same story. I tried free alternatives - iFileX would crash even before the Ui would pop up. One thing I needed it for in particular (I'm sure, this app's utility is vastly greater than the purpose I availed of yesterday, and I believe, I'll utilise its other features soon, as well) - is listing all the invisible files across a number of subfolders (a few hundreds) in a certain folder. ![]() Hence, this is not an entire replacement for Spotlight but it can come handy in certain, if not many, situations.Ī very useful utility that works to expectation. Hence it is great for finding system files, for example. This allows you to find any file, even those inside packages and others excluded from Spotlight search. Unlike Spotlight (i.e., the Finder's Find command), it does not access a pre-built database but searches the chosen volume directly.
